Program 23: Safety Monitoring & Emergency Response

Completion of an effective safety monitoring and emergency response system is required for Pimicikamak resource users in the exercise of their aboriginal and Treaty rights where safety is substantially affected by the hydro project. The system is designed to facilitate, and be based primarily on, volunteer safety monitors. It will be integrated with existing emergency responders.

Establish means of monitoring safety and responding to emergency situations to remedy direct and indirect safety impacts of the project in accordance with Article 25 of the NFA.
