Program 56: Ininiwi Pimatisiwin

A program to encourage active participation in life on the land is required to offset adverse effects of the project on the exercise of aboriginal and Treaty rights of the Pimicikamak people and consequent injury to their spiritual relationship with the land, their mental and physical health, and their identity.

To foster, and to offset personal costs of, spending time on the land in preferred locations, and to improve personal safety in the face of increased risks, for Pimicikamak citizens camping overnight within Treaty 5 territory. The ultimate goal is to engage people in the process to heal the land, heal the people and heal the Pimicikamak Nation.
